Curiosity Rover On Mars -All you Need To know

Curiosity rover is the greatest explorer of Mars. This article will tell you all about Curiosity, why it’s so important, and what it means for our future. It’s time to explore the facts!

The curiosity rover has been exploring Mars since 2012. In 2020, NASA plans to send a new rover called “Mars 2020” that will continue its work on Mars’ surface as well as collect samples for return back to earth in 2023.

When It All Starts

the lunch of the rover curiosity rover started in 2012

-The curiosity rover is about the size of an SUV, has a built in laboratory that can analyze samples with state of the art equipment, cameras on its front and back so you feel like you are exploring mars too! Curiosity also carries a laser for zapping rocks as well as tools used to scoop up soil or drill into rock.

The lab inside the rover analyses these collected samples looking for evidence of water or other conditions that could support microbial life.

It has made many important discoveries already including finding organic compounds – building blocks for life – at several different sites on Mars

How Do Mars Rovers Communicate With Earth?

Curiosity can communicate with Earth via a high-gain antenna on the rover’s mast and to send data back, Curiosity has low-gain antennas at the end of its two long robotic arms.

The rovers are designed to be compatible with NASA’s Deep Space Network which is in turn connected to satellite dishes that sit outside Earth’s atmosphere. The signals from Mars go into deep space and then bounce off a dish onto the surface of Earth

Because the distance to Mars is greater than the distance to the Moon, signals from Curiosity take between three and twenty minutes to reach NASA’s Deep Space Network

What Has Curiosity Rover Discovered?

Curiosity discovered evidence that an ancient river flowed on mars

Curiosity also discovered a new type of rock called “tapeats” and it has been able to determine the chemical composition of some rocks by their weight

curiosity’s scientific curiosity is not yet satisfied. It will continue exploring with its Mars 2020 mission, which includes taking samples from up to two miles beneath the surface to search for biosignatures

Is Curiosity Rover Still Working?

Curiosity is still active on mars

the rover is still exploring the surface of Mars, but it has not sent back any new data since March 22nd. NASA scientists are currently trying to figure out what went wrong with its memory chip

curiosity’s mission was originally set for two years, but its time may be extended after 2020 if they can fix the problem and find a way to survive past 2024 because that will be when Curiosity’s power source runs out

The documentary explores and answers, “What sets Curiosity apart from other Mars Rovers?” It includes a comprehensive narration and video footage of the actual station with the scientists working on such a project. The descriptive and curious theme of the documentary truly will capture an inquisitive mind.
